Varnes finished 2-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Varnes lost 5-3 to Emma Wallingford (Ottawa, ON), then responded with a 7-3 win over Jessica Thorne (Ottawa, ON). Varnes won 6-3 against Peters. Varnes went on to lose 9-0 against Morrissey in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Carleton Heights Women's Cash Championship title, Varnes earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $1,000CDN first prize cheque.
