Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) lost 7-4 to John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the Final of the Meridian Canadian Open, held December 8 - 13, 2015 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Gushue won 5-2 over Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2015 Meridian Canadian Open in Yorkton, Saskatchewan; and won 6-2 over Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Gushue finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Adam Casey (Charlottetown, PEI) 8-2, then won 6-3 against Carruthers and 7-5 against David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Meridian Canadian Open, Gushue take home 66.134 world rankings points along with the $14,000CDN prize, remaining in 2nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 32.169 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gushue ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 468.463 points earned so far this season.
