To advance to the championship game, Jacobs won 7-3 over Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Players' Championship in Toronto, Ontario; and won 6-2 over Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Players' Championship in Toronto, Ontario;
 
Jacobs finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jacobs defeated Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) 6-4, then won 6-2 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB). Jacobs went on to lose 6-5 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Jacobs lost 5-2 to Charley Thomas (Calgary, AB) where Jacobs responded with a 7-1 win over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Players' Championship, Jacobs take home 60.613 world rankings points along with the $15,500CDN prize.
