Thomas won 3-2 against Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK), then won 6-5 against Korte in their final qualifying round match.
 
Thomas earned 26.820 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Point Optical Curling Classic, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 24th place overall with 103.386 total points. Thomas ranks 14th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 45.228 points earned so far this season.
