Bottcher went on to lose 7-2 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON). Bottcher lost 7-6 to Carruthers where Bottcher responded with a 7-3 win over Soo-Hyuk Kim (Gangwon, KOR). Bottcher won 8-2 against Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
