David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO) won 4-3 over Pat Simmons (Calgary, CAN) in the Final of the Karuizawa International, held December 17 - 20, 2015 in Karuizawa, Japan.
 
Murdoch finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murdoch defeated Japan's Hiroshi Fukui 9-2, then won 7-4 against Hayato Matsumura (Karuizawa, JPN) and 7-6 against Markus Hoiberg (Oppdal, NOR). Murdoch won 5-3 against Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Karuizawa International Championship title, Murdoch earned 29.497 world rankings points along with the $11,519CDN first prize cheque. Murdoch move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 27.273 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 14th overall with 276.064 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
