Bottcher finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bottcher lost 6-0 to Thomas Scoffin (Edmonton, AB), then responded with a 5-3 win over Mick Lizmore (Edmonton, AB). Bottcher won 7-5 against Sluchinski, then won 6-0 against Scoffin in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the HDF Insurance Shoot-Out, Bottcher take home 23.822 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN prize, remaining in 8th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 300.690 total points.
