McCannell finished 2-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McCannell defeated Randy McKean (Virden, MB) 7-2, then went on to lose 5-3 against Cale Dunbar (Brandon, MB). McCannell responded with a 6-4 win over Ray Baker (Dauphin, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Brandon Men's Bonspiel, McCannell take home 1.750 world rankings points along with the $1,200CDN prize, moving up 42 spots the World Ranking Standings into 198th place overall with 4.200 total points. McCannell ranks 133rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.200 points earned so far this season.
