McIntyre finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McIntyre defeated Daryl Horsman (Phoenix, AZ) 8-2, then won 6-3 against Derek Oryniak (Winnipeg, MB). McIntyre went on to lose 7-5 against David Bohn (Winnipeg, MB). McIntyre responded with a 7-2 win over Dennis Bohn (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the The Sunova Spiel at East St. Paul Championship title, McIntyre earned 16.085 world rankings points along with the $2,600CDN first prize cheque, moving up 8 spots the World Ranking Standings into 66th place overall with 70.059 total points. McIntyre ranks 44th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 57.110 points earned so far this season.
