Thompson finished 2-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thompson lost 5-4 to Paul Dexter (Halifax, NS), then responded with a 7-4 win over Nick Hilton (Yarmouth, NS). Thompson won 6-1 against Trevor Archibald (Kentville, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
