Chelsea Carey (Calgary, CAN) finished 8-3 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Lene Nielsen (Hvidovre, DEN) 8-7, then won 7-4 against Binia Feltscher (Flims, SUI) and 10-2 against Erika Brown (Madison, USA). Carey went on to lose 6-3 against Anna Sidorova (Moscow, RUS). Carey responded with a 9-4 win over Margaretha Sigfridsson (Sundsvall, SWE). Carey won 7-5 against Daniela Driendl (Fï¿½ssen , GER), then won 5-4 against Federica Apollonio (Cortina d'Ampezzo, ITA). Carey went on to lose 8-7 against Ji-Sun Kim (gyeonggido, KOR). Carey responded with a 7-1 win over Oona Kauste (Hyvinkaa, FIN). Carey went on to lose 11-2 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN). Carey responded with a 9-4 win over Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

Carey earned 30.424 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the Ford World Women's Curling Championship, remaining in 9th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 12.865 after improving upon their best so far this season. Carey ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 308.312 points earned so far this season.
