Carey responded with a 7-1 win over Oona Kauste (Hyvinkaa, FIN). Carey went on to lose 11-2 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN). Carey responded with a 9-4 win over Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
