To advance to the championship game, Skrlik won 6-5 over Kristen Streifel (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Alberta Junior Women's Provincials in Wainwright, Alberta;
 
Skrlik finished 5-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Skrlik defeated Amanda Moizis (Red Deer, AB) 10-5, then went on to lose 8-4 against Streifel. Skrlik responded with a 6-5 win over Veronica Maschmeyer (Ellerslie, AB). Skrlik went on to lose 7-4 against Sturmay. Skrlik responded with a 9-3 win over Allyson Hamilton (Taber, AB). Skrlik won 7-2 against Janais DeJong (Grande Prairie, AB), then won 9-3 against Brenna Bilassy (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
