To advance to the championship game, Sturmay won 6-4 over Tyler Lautner (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Alberta Junior Men's Provincials in Wainwright, Alberta;
Sturmay finished 5-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Glenn Venance (Edmonton, AB) 7-1, then went on to lose 8-4 against Lautner. Sturmay responded with a 8-4 win over Colton Goller (Lethbridge, AB). Sturmay won 11-3 against Lyndin Stone (Manning, AB), then won 7-5 against Lucas Bartz (Ellerslie, AB). Sturmay went on to lose 9-5 against Harty. Sturmay responded with a 11-1 win over Lane Knievel (Manning, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

WOLFVILLE, N.S. — Edmonton’s Team Selena Sturmay solidified a berth into the 2025 Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials, presented by Connect Hearing, with a 9-4 win over Team Kayla MacMillan (Victoria) in the third and final game of the women’s best-of-three final at the 2025 Home Hardware Canadian Pre-Trials on Sunday afternoon.
