Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) won 7-4 over Jeremy Harty (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Alberta Junior Men's Provincials, held January 2 - 6, 2016 in Wainwright, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Sturmay won 6-4 over Tyler Lautner (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Alberta Junior Men's Provincials in Wainwright, Alberta;
 
Sturmay finished 5-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Glenn Venance (Edmonton, AB) 7-1, then went on to lose 8-4 against Lautner. Sturmay responded with a 8-4 win over Colton Goller (Lethbridge, AB). Sturmay won 11-3 against Lyndin Stone (Manning, AB), then won 7-5 against Lucas Bartz (Ellerslie, AB). Sturmay went on to lose 9-5 against Harty. Sturmay responded with a 11-1 win over Lane Knievel (Manning, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Sturmay did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Sturmay ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
