Kevin Koe (Calgary, CAN) won 5-3 over Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN) in the Final of the World Men's Curling Championship, held April 2 - 10, 2016 in Basel, Switzerland.
 
Koe finished 10-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe defeated Aku Kauste (Hyvinkaa, FIN) 7-3, then won 11-8 against Stjerne and 10-9 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Koe won 5-3 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO), then won 9-2 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) and 6-3 against Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER). Koe won 7-2 against Alexey Tselousov (Moscow, RUS), then won 9-2 against SooHyuk Kim (Gangwon, KOR). Koe went on to lose 4-3 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Koe responded with a 6-4 win over Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). Koe won 8-2 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the World Men's Curling Championship Championship title, Koe earned 74.015 world rankings points. For week 34 of the event schedule, Koe did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Koe ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
