Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) finished 8-3 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morozumi lost 8-5 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE), then responded with a 8-3 win over Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER). Morozumi won 9-6 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI), then won 6-5 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). Morozumi went on to lose 9-2 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, CAN). Morozumi lost 7-5 to Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN) where Morozumi responded with a 6-3 win over SooHyuk Kim (Gangwon, KOR). Morozumi won 8-7 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA), then won 6-4 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) and 7-2 against Alexey Tselousov (Moscow, RUS). Morozumi won 7-5 against Aku Kauste (Hyvinkaa, FIN) in their final qualifying round match.

Morozumi earned 31.721 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the World Men's Curling Championship. For week 34 of the event schedule, Morozumi did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Morozumi ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
