8-5 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE), then responded with a 8-3 win over Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER). Morozumi won 9-6 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI), then won 6-5 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). Morozumi went on to lose 9-2 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, CAN). Morozumi lost 7-5 to Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN) where Morozumi responded with a 6-3 win over SooHyuk Kim (Gangwon, KOR). Morozumi won 8-7 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA), then won 6-4 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) and 7-2 against Alexey Tselousov (Moscow, RUS). Morozumi won 7-5 against Aku Kauste (Hyvinkaa, FIN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Morozumi earned 31.721 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the World Men's Curling Championship.
