Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, NONT) won 6-1 over Sijia Liu (Harbin, CHN) in the Final of the ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling, held January 1 - 4, 2016 at the Four Seasons Curling Club in Blaine, United States. To advance to the championship game, McCarville won 9-1 over Wisconsin's Erika Brown in the semifinals of the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling in Blaine, Minnesota, United States; and won 7-3 over Suzanne Birt (Charlottetown, PEI) in the quarterfinals.
 
McCarville finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McCarville defeated Norma O'Leary (Duluth, MN) 9-1, then went on to lose 5-3 against Wisconsin's Erika Brown. McCarville responded with a 5-4 win over Allison Flaxey (Caledon, ON). McCarville won 6-1 against Cory Christensen (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling Championship title, McCarville earned 40.972 world rankings points along with the $8,339CDN first prize cheque. For week 20 of the event schedule, McCarville did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. McCarville ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
