Clark finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Clark defeated Kevin Kakela (Rolla, ND) 9-1, then won 5-4 against Goodland. Clark went on to lose 4-3 against Shuster. Clark responded with a 4-2 win over Pete Fenson (Blaine, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
