Murdoch finished 2-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murdoch defeated Eirik Mjoen (Oslo, NOR) 6-1, then won 6-4 against Gustav Eskilsson (Skellefte�, SWE). Murdoch went on to lose 6-3 against Kim in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the German Masters Championship title, Murdoch earned 36.586 world rankings points along with the $9,184CDN first prize cheque. Murdoch move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 32.816 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 13th overall with 335.747 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
