Advancing directly to the semifinals, Murphy won 7-3 over Doug MacKenzie (Windsor, NS) to advance to the championship game. of the 2015 Sobeys Classic in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia;

Murphy finished 4-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murphy lost 8-3 to Mike Kennedy (Moncton, NB), then responded with a 8-3 win over Mike Flemming (Halifax, NS). Murphy won 7-3 against Stuart Thompson (Halifax, NS), then won 8-2 against Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS) and 6-2 against Glen MacLeod (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Sobeys Classic Championship title, Murphy earned 21.701 world rankings points along with the $3,200CDN first prize cheque, moving up 19 spots the World Ranking Standings into 43rd place overall with 56.663 total points. Murphy ranks 32nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 28.226 points earned so far this season.
