MacKenzie went on to lose 8-5 against Ian Fitzner-Leblanc (Halifax, NS). MacKenzie responded with a 8-7 win over Shawn Adams (Halifax, NS). MacKenzie won 7-3 against Robert Mayhew (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

MacKenzie earned 13.176 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Sobeys Classic, moving up 174 spots the World Ranking Standings into 120th place overall with 14.685 total points. MacKenzie ranks 56th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 13.176 points earned so far this season.
