Carruthers lost 5-4 to Pat Simmons (Calgary, AB). Carruthers lost 7-4 to Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) where Carruthers responded with a 7-6 win over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON). Carruthers went on to lose 9-4 against John Epping (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
