After advancing directly to the championship game, Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) lost 7-3 to Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Home Hardware Canada Cup of Curling, held December 2 - 6, 2015 in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
 
McEwen finished 5-2 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen lost 7-3 to Pat Simmons (Calgary, AB), then responded with a 9-6 win over John Epping (Toronto, ON). McEwen won 9-4 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB). McEwen went on to lose 6-5 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). McEwen responded with a 5-4 win over Koe. McEwen won 8-6 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON), then won 10-4 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Home Hardware Canada Cup of Curling, McEwen take home 67.869 world rankings points along with the $16,500CDN prize, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 930.198 total points. McEwen ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 356.198 points earned so far this season.
