Alina Paetz (Zurich, SUI) finished 4-5 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Paetz lost 8-2 to Anna Sidorova (Moscow, RUS), then responded with a 6-3 win over Kristin Moen Skaslien (Oslo, NOR). Paetz won 12-1 against Dorottya Palancsa (Budapest, HUN). Paetz went on to lose 8-3 against Oona Kauste (Hyvinkaa, FIN). Paetz responded with a 10-5 win over Maile Molder (Tallinn, EST). Paetz went on to lose 7-4 against Lene Nielsen (Hvidovre, DEN). Paetz responded with a 10-8 win over Daniela Driendl (Fï¿½ssen , GER). Paetz went on to lose 7-5 against Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO). Paetz lost 8-6 to Cissi Ostlund (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

Paetz earned 5.686 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 6th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 2.148 after improving upon their best so far this season. Paetz ranks 12th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 161.259 points earned so far this season.
