Shen went on to lose 9-6 against Soo-Hyuk Kim (Gangwon, KOR). Shen lost 7-5 to Peter De Boer (Naseby, NZ). Shen lost 7-2 to Jia Liang Zang (Harbin, CHN) where Shen responded with a 9-5 win over Ian Palangio (Sydney, AUS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Shen earned 2.031 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 117th place overall with 24.323 total points. Shen ranks 86th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 22.623 points earned so far this season.
