Stephanie Van Huyse (Scarborough, ON) finished 5-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Van Huyse defeated Chrissy Cadorin (Guelph, ON) 8-5, then went on to lose 6-2 against Jacqueline Harrison (Mississauga, ON). Van Huyse responded with a 7-5 win over Ashley Waye (Toronto, ON). Van Huyse won 10-6 against Susan Froud (Stroud, ON), then won 6-5 against Mallory Kean (Stoney Creek, ON) and 6-4 against Harrison. Van Huyse went on to lose 5-4 against Julie Tippin (Woodstock, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Van Huyse earned 3.469 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 15 spots the World Ranking Standings into 182nd place overall with 7.438 total points. Van Huyse ranks 163rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.885 points earned so far this season.
