Tom Buchy (Kimberley, BC) finished 2-0 in the 5-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Buchy defeated Justin Umpherville (Fruitvale, BC) 10-5, then won 8-6 against Tom Shypitka (Cranbrook, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the BC CDI Kootenay Interregional Championship title, Buchy earned 2.625 world rankings points, moving up 21 spots the World Ranking Standings into 245th place overall with 8.307 total points. Buchy ranks 260th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.625 points earned so far this season.
