In their opening game, Tolley lost 7-3 to Glen Jackson (Victoria, BC), then responded with a 5-3 win over Sean Matheson (Kelowna, BC). Tolley went on to lose 5-4 against Richard Brower (White Rock, BC). Tolley responded with a 9-1 win over Matheson. Tolley won 8-4 against Brower. Tolley went on to lose 8-4 against Will House (Richmond, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Tolley earned 0.394 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 389th place overall with 1.697 total points. Tolley ranks 316th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.697 points earned so far this season.
