Laycock won 5-3 against Randy Bryden (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the SaskTel Tankard Championship title, Laycock earned 24.045 world rankings points, remaining in 7th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 15.407 after improving upon their best so far this season. Laycock ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 303.604 points earned so far this season.
