Mike Farbelow (St. Paul, MN) finished 4-3 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Farbelow defeated Eric Fenson (Bemidji, MN) 10-0, then went on to lose 9-4 against Brandon Corbett (Rochester, NY). Farbelow lost 8-4 to Minnesota's Josh Bahr where Farbelow responded with a 7-4 win over Lyle Sieg (Seattle, WA). Farbelow won 6-4 against John Lilla (St Paul, MN, MN), then won 10-4 against Tucker Smith (Rolla, ND). Farbelow went on to lose 6-5 against Heath McCormick (New York, NY) in their final qualifying round match.

Farbelow earned 2.093 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 2 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 79th place overall with 60.094 total points. Farbelow ranks 92nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 32.830 points earned so far this season.
