Stephen Dropkin (Minneapolis, MN) finished 4-3 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dropkin defeated Daryl Horsman (Phoenix, AZ) 13-6, then went on to lose 11-2 against John Lilla (St Paul, MN, MN). Dropkin lost 5-3 to Bret Jackson (Brighton, MI) where Dropkin responded with a 7-5 win over Kraig Deeren (Madison, IL). Dropkin won 9-3 against Jeremy Roe (Madison, WI), then won 8-1 against Jackson. Dropkin went on to lose 7-6 against Minnesota's Josh Bahr in their final qualifying round match.

Dropkin earned 2.093 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 8 spots the World Ranking Standings into 165th place overall with 19.226 total points. Dropkin ranks 150th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 14.351 points earned so far this season.
