Laura Burtnyk (Winnipeg, MB) lost 7-5 to Abby Ackland (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Manitoba Canola Junior Womens, held January 5 - 10, 2016 at the Rivers Curling Club in Rivers, Canada.

Burtnyk finished 7-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Burtnyk defeated Randine Baker (Winnipeg, MB) 8-3, then won 8-2 against Emma Jensen (Dauphin, MB) and 11-6 against Hanne Jensen (Dauphin, MB). Burtnyk won 9-3 against Kaitlyn Payette (Brandon, MB), then won 7-6 against Christine MacKay (Winnipeg, MB) and 9-5 against Shae Bevan (Winnipeg, MB). Burtnyk won 4-3 against Ackland in their final qualifying round match.
