Small finished 2-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Small lost 1-0 to Dumont, then responded with a 1-0 win over Bob Cooper (Grande Prairie, AB). Small won 1-0 against Cliff Kostiuk (Nampa, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
