In their opening game, Murray defeated Sean Breaux (St. Paul, MN) 9-2, then won 7-1 against Rich Halvorson (St. Paul, MN) and 8-3 against Pete Henschel (St. Paul, MN). Murray won 5-3 against Mark Willmert (Saint Paul, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
