Gulseth finished 4-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gulseth defeated Todd Ussatis (Bismarck, ND) 11-3, then won 9-7 against Bob Bina (Grand Forks, ND) and 10-4 against Tucker Smith (Rolla, ND). Gulseth won 10-1 against David Boura (Grand Forks, ND) in their final qualifying round match.
