Dennis Mellerup (Ardsley, NY) qualified for the 2016 USA Senior Men's National Championship playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-3 against Jeffrey Erickson (St. Paul, MN). of the 2016 USA Senior Men's National Championship in Medford, Wisconsin;
 
Mellerup finished 3-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mellerup defeated Paul Matzke (Madison, WI) 10-5, then went on to lose 5-4 against Jeff Tomlinson (Portland, OR). Mellerup responded with a 6-4 win over Jeff Wright (Chicago, IL). Mellerup went on to lose 8-5 against Geoff Goodland (Eau Claire, WI). Mellerup responded with a 9-5 win over Steve Swoboda (Rice Lake, WI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Mellerup did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Mellerup ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
