Katie Murray (Stirling, SCO) lost 7-5 to Sophie Jackson (Sitrling, SCO) in the Final of the Scottish Curling Junior Championships, held January 27 - 31, 2016 in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Murray finished 6-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murray defeated Lesley Young (Stirling, SCO) 9-3, then went on to lose 10-6 against Jackson. Murray responded with a 10-6 win over Scotland's Lisa Davie. Murray won 7-4 against Scotland's Ellie Hamilton, then won 7-6 against Amy Bryce (Dumfries, SCO) and 9-6 against Kara Compton (Stranraer, SCO). Murray won 7-6 against Karina Aitken (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Scottish Curling Junior Championships, Murray take home 7.054 world rankings points. For week of the event schedule, Murray did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Murray ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
