Michelle Englot (Winnipeg, MB) lost 8-4 to Val Sweeting (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1, held November 8 - 13, 2016 in Cranbrook, British Columbia. To advance to the championship game, Englot won 6-5 over Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2016 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Cranbrook, British Columbia; and won 7-5 over Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Cranbrook, British Columbia;

Englot finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Englot defeated Margaretha Sigfridsson (Skelleftea, SWE) 8-7, then won 7-5 against Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB). Englot went on to lose 7-4 against Silvana Tirinzoni (Zurich, SUI). Englot lost 4-3 to Allison Flaxey (Caledon, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1, Englot take home 62.946 world rankings points along with the $15,000CDN prize, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 14th place overall with 293.174 total points. Englot ranks 12th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 123.897 points earned so far this season.
