Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) qualified for the 2016 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-5 against Michelle Englot (Winnipeg, MB). of the 2016 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Cranbrook, British Columbia;

Homan finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Ayumi Ogasawara (Sapporo, Hokkaido, JPN) 6-3, then won 7-1 against Kelsey Rocque (Edmonton, AB) and 10-3 against Tracy Fleury (Sudbury, NONT). Homan won 7-5 against Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Homan earned 34.334 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 804.747 total points. Homan ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 221.039 points earned so far this season.
