Dean Joanisse (Maple Ridge, BC) run at the 2016 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 came to an end in the semifinals with a 4-2 loss to Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON). of the 2016 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Cranbrook, British Columbia; Joanisse advanced through the quarterfinals with a 5-2 win over Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). of the 2016 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Cranbrook, British Columbia;

Joanisse finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Joanisse defeated Mark Bice (Sarnia, ON) 8-3, then won 6-3 against Stephen Schneider (Vancouver/Vernon, BC) and 9-4 against Brewster. Joanisse went on to lose 6-4 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Joanisse earned 28.713 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 35th place overall with 156.166 total points. Joanisse ranks 37th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 58.537 points earned so far this season.
