Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) won 5-4 over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT) in the Final of the WFG Masters, held October 25 - 30, 2016 in Okotoks, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Edin won 8-3 over Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals   of the 2016 WFG Masters in Okotoks, Alberta; and won 6-4 over John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the quarterfinals.  of the 2016 WFG Masters in Okotoks, Alberta; 
 
Edin finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin lost 4-2 to Jacobs, then responded with a 10-3 win over Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB). Edin won 5-1 against Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON), then won 6-4 against Mark Nichols (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the WFG Masters Championship title, Edin earned 83.098 world rankings points along with the $30,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 4th place overall with 579.693 total points. Edin ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 343.367 points earned so far this season.
