To advance to the championship game, Jacobs won 5-3 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the semifinals of the 2016 Boost National in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario; and won 6-5 over John Morris (Vernon, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Boost National in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario;
 
Jacobs finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jacobs defeated Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) 7-2, then won 6-3 against Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, NONT). Jacobs went on to lose 7-5 against Gushue. Jacobs lost 5-4 to Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Boost National Championship title, Jacobs earned 81.456 world rankings points along with the $30,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 6th place overall with 664.129 total points. Jacobs ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 319.000 points earned so far this season.
