To advance to the championship game, Jacobs won 9-5 over John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals of the 2017 Humpty's Champions Cup in Calgary, Alberta; and won 9-8 over Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Humpty's Champions Cup in Calgary, Alberta;
 
Jacobs finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jacobs defeated John Morris (Vernon, BC) 7-2, then won 8-6 against Grant Hardie (Dumfries, SCO). Jacobs went on to lose 6-5 against Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI). Jacobs responded with a 5-1 win over Braeden Moskowy (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Humpty's Champions Cup Championship title, Jacobs earned 77.876 world rankings points along with the $40,000CDN first prize cheque. Jacobs move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 49.145 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 5th overall with 787.540 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Jacobs ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 442.411 points earned so far this season.
