Touri Koana (Yamanashi, JPN) lost 9-5 to Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) in the Final of the Japan Curling Championships, held February 7 - 13, 2016 in Aomori, Japan.
 
Koana finished 4-4 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koana lost 8-2 to Ayumi Ogasawara (Sapporo, JPN), droppimg another game, 6-5 to Fujisawa. Koana lost 9-7 to Natsuki Saito (Aomori, JPN) where Koana responded with a 7-4 win over Japan's Mizuki Kitaguchi. Koana won 5-3 against Rina Ida (Sapporo, JPN). Koana went on to lose 7-5 against Sena Nakajima (Karuizawa, JPN). Koana responded with a 10-3 win over Japan's Misaki Tanaka. Koana won 10-7 against Emi Sato (Kyoto, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Japan Curling Championships, Koana take home 15.518 world rankings points, moving up 24 spots the World Ranking Standings into 99th place overall with 36.851 total points. Koana ranks 86th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 31.651 points earned so far this season.
