Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) won 6-3 over Japan's Junpei Kanda in the Final of the Japan Curling Championships, held February 7 - 13, 2016 in Aomori, Japan.
 
Morozumi finished 8-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morozumi defeated Minoru Kusaka (Aomori, JPN) 12-2, then won 9-3 against Japan's Ryo Ogihara and 8-4 against Japan's Ryo Wakabayashi. Morozumi won 8-2 against Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN), then won 11-3 against Japan's Junpei Kanda and 7-4 against Gaku Suzuki (Sapporo, JPN). Morozumi won 8-3 against Kanya Shimizun (Furano, JPN), then won 10-5 against Yasumoto Natsuizaka (Karuizawa, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Japan Curling Championships Championship title, Morozumi earned 13.965 world rankings points, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 24th place overall with 195.998 total points. Morozumi ranks 48th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 76.662 points earned so far this season.
