Nernberger won 6-5 against John Shuster (Duluth, MN), then won 10-6 against Doug Pottinger (St. Paul, MN). Nernberger went on to lose 8-6 against Tyler George (Duluth, MN). Nernberger responded with a 8-6 win over Korey Dropkin (Blaine, MN). Nernberger won 7-4 against Jason Smith (St. Paul, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
