Bingyu Wang (HARBIN, CHN) won 6-3 over Karla Thompson (Kamloops, BC) in the Final of the Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel, held November 25 - 28, 2016 at the Abbotsford Curling Club in Abbotsford, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Wang won 6-3 over British Columbia's Marla Mallett in the semifinals   of the 2016 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada; and won 5-2 over Sarah Koltun (Whitehorse, YK) in the quarterfinals.  of the 2016 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada; 
 
Wang finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wang defeated Jenn Nguyen (Denver, CO) 11-1, then won 7-5 against Amanda Russett (Kamloops, BC) and 7-4 against Dailene Pewarchuk (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel Championship title, Wang earned 21.489 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 28th place overall with 178.006 total points. Wang ranks 12th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 150.221 points earned so far this season.
