To advance to the championship game, Morris won 9-1 over Sean Geall (Kelowna, BC) in the semifinals of the 2016 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada; and won 9-6 over Adam Cseke (Kelowna, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Morris finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morris defeated Jeff Guignard (Vancouver, BC) 7-3, then won 9-3 against Grant Dezura (Maple Ridge, BC) and 9-4 against Northern Ontario's Dylan Johnston in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel Championship title, Morris earned 17.540 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 11th place overall with 390.408 total points.
