Curtis McCannell (Pilot Mound, MB) qualified for the 2016 Brandon Berth Bonspiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against Terry McNamee (Brandon, MB). of the 2016 Brandon Berth Bonspiel in Brandon, Manitoba;

McCannell finished 4-1 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McCannell defeated Coard Allard (Winnipeg, MB) 7-2, then went on to lose 7-3 against Steve Irwin (Brandon, MB). McCannell responded with a 6-4 win over Roger Parker (Dauphin, MB). McCannell won 7-5 against Jerry Chudley (Neepawa, MB), then won 5-4 against McNamee in their final qualifying round match.

McCannell earned 4.266 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Brandon Berth Bonspiel, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 131st place overall with 30.752 total points. McCannell ranks 120th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 21.064 points earned so far this season.
