Jeff Thomas (St. John's, NL) 9-3, then went on to lose 6-5 against Guy Charette (Buckingham, QC). Ursel responded with a 6-3 win over Grant Odishaw (Rothesay, NB). Ursel won 10-2 against Ed Sattelberger (Iqaluit, NU), then won 9-1 against Rod MacDonald (Charlottetown, PEI). Ursel went on to lose 8-5 against Alan O'Leary (Dartmouth, NS). Ursel responded with a 6-4 win over Ed Lukowich (Calgary, AB). Ursel won 5-3 against Brad Heidt (Kerrobert, SK), then won 8-2 against Bryan Cochrane (Russell, ON). Ursel went on to lose 6-0 against Randy Neufeld (La Salle, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Ursel did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Ursel ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
