Randie Shen (Taipei, TPE) finished 1-3 in the 17-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shen lost 10-1 to Lyle Sieg (Seattle, USA), droppimg another game, 8-4 to Dean Joanisse (Maple Ridge, BC) where Shen responded with a 8-2 win over Mike Siggins (Phoenix, USA). Shen went on to lose 9-3 against Adam Cseke (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Shen earned 0.319 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 145th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 16.323 total points. Shen ranks 87th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.319 points earned so far this season.
